This is my first time registering for DAT and I am a little confused about the registration procedure even after looking over the online instructions. My questions are as follows:

1) I am planning to take the exam in Sept or October and will like to know when will be the latest time to register and schedule the day that I want to exam.

2) How long will it take to receive the eligibility letter to actually start choosing a date for the exam?

Thanks in advance!🙂

I registered at the ADA website on Sunday or Monday and I received an e-mail telling me I'm eligible on Tuesday at 12:40pm. The letter states that I should wait 24 hours before calling the prometric place to setup a time to take the test, so basically it will take you a few days.

it took me a day or two to get the eligibility letter.
i scheduled my exam for may about a month and a half before and there were plenty of available days when i scheduled an appt. i don't know if that'll be the case this sept or oct, but i say a month, or two months to be safe, would be good.

I wrote and spoke with one of the representative there and got an email and permission to take the test within a day. Fax the information over to them.

Depending on the day you choose, I mean you can take it any day you want, but it all just comes down to the time and location you choose. I registered about 2 weeks before the exam. The elgibility letter comes normally on tuesdays.
