Just got my rejection letter from Shenandoah without an interview.

I had a 3.95 GPA, and an 80 PCAT, 6 months pharm experience, 3 recommendations(1 from pharmacist), and research experience.

Any speculation as to why they shot me down? The only reason I can think of is because I made a 37% on both the Verbal and Reading comp. for the pcat.

On a side note: VCU offered me an interview 🙂. How strange?

aww man, that sucks. I applied to both of those schools late October, but haven't heard anything from them yet 😕 when did you submit your application?

I did so around that time as well. So maybe yours is coming up soon.

🙁
I'm sorry!! You have a really great GPA and PCAT score. The 37% in verbal and reading could be a factor into their decision. It's a shame they didn't let you prove yourself during the interview essay. If you are really curious, you could always call them and ask.

In comparison to you, (3.74 GPA, 80 PCAT, 2 year pharm experience and research) I got into Shenandoah, but haven't heard a single damn thing from VCU. It's sad...

You should get into VCU. Shenandoah stands firm by their new PCAT requirement. Too bad you just missed the 40 percent cut for Verbal/Reading Comp.

On the other hand, I've heard that people got into VCU with single digit Verbal/Reading Comp scores on the PCAT. You should have no problems with the other parts of your application. Good luck in Pharmacy School!

Sorry to hear about Shenandoah.

I applied in early October, received an e-mail for an interview in mid-November, interviewed in early December, and was accepted at the end of December.... I have a 3.65 GPA, 85 composite PCAT (none lower than 75), no pharmacy experience...

I would guess it is the low PCAT individual scores. That's the only thing I can think of as to why they would say no without an interview.

Good luck with VCU!
