I did an away in a sub-speciality in July at my top choice (couldn't get a Sub-I). I hadn't heard anything until this morning when I received a rejection email. I felt I had done well on the rotation and I have a decent application. The attending wrote a LOR on my behalf. I met with the PD who seemed to hint that I would get an interview.

Do I email and beg for an interview? (If so, do I email/call the Program Director or the Coordinator) or .... Do I cut my losses and move on?

Thanks all!

We've talked abou this a decent amount. Top programs very often do not invite people who have done rotations there to interview. It also probably has little to do with your time there if it seemed like it went well and everything to do with your application. I'm sorry this happened to you but people need to be aware that doing a rotation somewhere is no guarantee for an interview invite.

You could send an email but why? They already told you everything you need to know, didn't they?

I agree.

Programs have a limited amount of interview slots. If you were barely competitive enough to get an interview, you wouldn't have matched there anyway. Not getting an interview is saving you time and money.
