I checked my email today and unpleasantly discovered that I am "not considered" by Indiana U of D...what a way to ruin my day
I am already applying to 14 schools. I'm just trying to get some advice on whether I should apply to more schools, and if so, which school do I have a better shot at not seeing these disturbing/depressing emails?
my stats:
GPA
BCP: 3.21
Science: 3.18
Overall: 3.34
DAT
AA: 20
TS: 21
PAT: 21
thx, guys

Be prepared to get rejected, it happens to essentially every applicant. Your GPA is on the lower-end, and some schools, IU for example, place more emphasis on GPA than others. Are you a resident of Indiana?

Assuming you are solid everywhere else on the app., you will get some interviews.

I wouldn't apply anywhere else aside from maybe NYU simply based on their enormous class size.

Sit tight, you will get the good kind of email any time now.

Good luck.

Geez some of you take this rejection business way too seriously (I see threads like this pop up everyday). I can tell you that this will not be the last rejection note you will see in your life. Rejections are part of life and what you guys should be doing is throw that in the trash and say "Next!"

I got like 3 rejections before my first interview invite. This stuff will happen. After I got one interview two more showed up with in the next week, then i got the rest of my rejections after my acceptances.
So the timing will be different for every school.

Just relax, sometimes the good will only come after the bad.

Ah, don't sweat it and feel bad that you got rejected from IUSD.

I'm currently a student here (D2), and I have to be frank, that I dislike the PBL curriculum here.

Although IUSD's PBL curriculum is not 100% like Harvard or USC, it's not a walk in the park kind of curriculum. It's more of a hyrbrid of lectures and PBL, like Case Western's dental program. Yet, in my opinion, PBL is frustrating because you have to "teach yourself" dentistry. I have had classmates who have failed the PBL triple jump exams.

So maybe God is at work, and thinks that IUSD is not the right dental school for your future. If you're from out of state, the tuition here is ridiculous. The rule is once you've applied to IUSD as an non-resident, you pay non-resident tuition for all four years. 👎

Like other people here said, you WILL get interview invites later on in the cycle, perhaps around August to late January 2008. Trust me, that's what happened to me two years ago when I was applying to dental school.

I feel for you man...I got one of those emails from IU last cycle. I'm applying again this year and hopefully it goes better. You'll get in somewhere, just dont feel bad if you get rejected.

If you dont mind me asking what was your QR score?
