Rejection from NYU?

hey has anyone gotten rejection from NYU yet? I'm just nervous since I haven't heard anything from them 🙁

does anyone know when they STOP giving interviews? I know TUFTS said they want to sent out everything by april......

I know! I"m thinking i 'll have to reapply for 2007....I think with our stats (mines alittle below yours), you definitely have a shot if u apply super early for 2007, cuz those are decent scores!

this kinda sux cuz I didn't know aadsas doesn't keep recommendations...this means I"ll have to ask for recs from my profs again! and kinda embarassing having to explain and tell them i didn't get in for 2006 ya know?

I think you still have a chance this year. your DAT's pretty good and your GPA is decent. dont worry too much.

I applied to NYU on May 17 (the day after AADSAS opened) and in August they sent me a letter saying my file was under review. When I called last week to check-up (b/c I too haven't heard anything after that), a woman said my file was on hold b/c they never got my official DATs. So then I called the ADA--in tears!--and they have a receipt of my scores mailed to NYU and other schools. It turns out NYU basically lost stuff from my file. The woman I spoke to said "it's quite common and happens a lot". But she offered to place my file on top of the pile and assured me that interviews and acceptances are given until March and April. So I guess that's good news. Whatever. I'm disapointed with NYU, and I don't care that 3000+ students apply each year. Like I told the woman on the phone, this is our future and they cannot be so careless. Oh, it made me so mad!! But hopefully my file is under review and I'll hear good news soon.

You know, I've heard from all of the schools that I applied to except NYU. At least I got a rejection letter from Columbia! When I called to see if anything fishy like that had happened with me they had no answer. Oh well, if you look at the interview descriptions of NYU it sounds like hell anyways. Still it would be the polite thing to do for them to get their acts together. It's not like it's free to apply there.

same here. haven't heard a thing from nyu. i'm a reapplicant who interviewed with them for the '04 cycle so my application was not late or anything since they still had it. all i did was updated with my new post-bac grades, new dat score, and rec letter. atleast we haven't been rejected yet.....thank god. btw, nyu's deadline is not till june 1st for their in-house application. keep the faith...i know i am. good luck all.

If the interview period is over and you haven't received an interview, you're out.

If you've interviewed and the class has filled and you haven't heard anything, you're out.

If you've interviewed and it's been a long time and the class is still not full, sit tight, you're just not one of the top applicants so they've kept pushing your file to the next round.

i read somewhere that a girl was sent a "file complete and ready for review" letter a long while back, but havent heard anything afterwards, called and found out it was not complete..

I think the consensus is that NYU has not sent out rejections to anyone yet, and it is still possible to get a acceptance w/o interview right now.

Stats, considering they know absolutely nothing personal about you besides your academic profile.

I'm assuming it's the whole package that they see on your AADSAS application. I'm not sure exactly what they look for, to be honest, because people that have been accepted w/o interview have a wide variety of GPA/DAT stats. I've seen anywhere from 3.0/18 to 4.0/26 or something like that..

Maybe distance could be a factor as well... But then again why would they care, since the student is doing the travelling 🙄

You raise an important point. How many of you NYU acceptees, w/out interview and post-interview, are from the East Coast? Seems like a bunch of you guys are getting accepted. But that's just my personal, general observation.

Same thing happen to me too. I called them about three mouths ago, and they told me they lost my DAT score, then I asked the ADA to send them again, then after one month I called them again, they told me they lost my DAT score once again, it seems they lost my every thing. And I called ADA and told them they lost by DAT score, but they refused to send my DAT score to them since they do not send more than three times. Then I call to NYU again, and after holding me about 45 minutes on phone, they found my stuff and they promise me to send my application under review now. But now after two months I haven’t got any thing from them. Bu I hope your application get view seriously. That’s why I hate NYU!!

I think your personal, gereral observation is wrong!! It does not make sense that a school accepts people by their location. That is B.S that we try to believe as an execuse for not hearing back. The real question should be, has any one been rejected yet or have been put on a waiting list?? If a waiting list has been created, then that means the class is full!!
