so i have applied to nyu, umdnj, stony, tufts, BU, columbia, temple, penn and maryland
i interviewed at nyu stony and umdnj
i CANT understand what the other schools are waiting for???--either invite me for an interview or reject me already!!!
for columbia and penn im not expecting and interview so why give me false hope(plus i would never go to columbia)
and for temple and tufts---i think my stats are good enough for them to even offer me an interview!!and i have interviewed at better schools

x2 on what was said above. And as for your question, you're really overthinking this. First of all, what makes you think you already interviewed at "better" schools? That's a pretty relative term, and if you HAD to quantify schools as better than another, I'm pretty sure Penn and Columbia would be up near the top. Also, you don't know what each schools are looking for. Stats are viewed differently than others by each respective school.

Um... many schools don't reject until later on in the cycle. Many schools have only sent out their 2nd round of interviews and a lot of those schools may have 4 or more rounds depending on how many people accepted their Dec 1 offers.

Agreed. The "back up school" mentality needs to go. The last few application cycles have been more than competitive, showing that there is no such thing as a "back up school".

Just wait till AFTER Jan 15th. If you don't hear back 2 weeks after the 15th, THEN the odds are against you I would say. Well that's just my opinion.

I think "better" is relative. Better in what sense? I could list the reasons I think Stony is better than columbia, the same for NYU vs Columbia... but I would also agree that Columbia has SOME things over Stony or NYU, making it "better." <--- See, relative. Relax 🙂
So what if it turns out later on that your top choice school rejected you? You'll still attend dental school and you'll still end up being Dr. Teethmagnet, DDS 👍

i heard that their clinical isnt up to par compared to the other schools and they prep you academically but not clinical---this is what i heard i dont know how true it is but if so many people are saying it, some of it must me true i think, but i dont know to what extent
then again, you'll get the feel when you have the tour and speak to the d3 and d4 students
glllll with ya interview buddy

If you are so disgruntled with the schools that have the audacity to make you wait, why not withdraw your application and teach them a lesson or two?

i dont believe thats really "teaching them a lesson" and i would like to see if i get invited for an interview with these schools---hope thats not a crime these days. . .

Thanks man I hope so too 🙂. I doubt that students I speak to during a tour will really tell me they dislike the place though. Likely only students who love it will be giving tours and speaking to you. But we'll see.
