Hey!

Noone has to tell me whether they have actually been rejected by a school or anything..but I'm just wondering if any schools have actually sent out any rejection letters yet without an interview?!! Or do they simply just not invite you for an interview until the application cycle has ended!?

Any input would be great! 🙂

Thanks

hello.

im a reapplicant and last yr i got rejected from every school i applied to w/ no interviews ouuch. well i did send in my stuff in late feb, but still, people do get interviews that late into the game. This year, however, I got everything done as quickly as possible and sent in everything by mid Oct, and so far 1 acceptance 1 upcoming interview and no rejections 👍

Did you receive a rejection letter soon after you applied, or did they send it long after you applied?

So how long after you apply would they automatically reject you?! or do they tend to wait until the application cycle is ending and the seats have been filled?!

There are a couple schools I applied to quite some time ago.. the end of september or so which I havnt heard back from at alll! So im wondering if there is still a possiblity of hearing back for an interview now? or its most likely like a rejection from those schools!! gosh..I hate playing this waiting game.. 🙁

Any input would be great!

last year i remember getting a rejection letter from SUNY one week after i sent in my app. (that was quick). then the other schools all took awhile, like 3-4 months. As far as i know, if you don't get a rejection letter then it's good. usually your application gets looked at more than once, so it could take awhile for you to get a definite response. but you should always call in to make sure your file is still active (sometimes they lose things). you should call when you find out that a bunch of people got interviews or got accepted but u didn't hear anything, because many schools send out their decisions in chunks. i think someone mentioned that every call or email you send in noted, so be careful what you say or write to them : ) g'luck it's still early in the game you'll be fine.

I applied to SCO in the middle of August and I just received a letter today inviting me for an interview...so don't give up hope!

are rejections, interviews, and acceptance letters given by mail letters or emails?

Depends on the school I think. I got letters from SCO and Nova about interviews, and SCO called me to let me know I was accepted.

pienfoo, I was wondering, what did you do on your time off and what did you do to improve your chances of getting in the second time?

All my interview invitations (NOVA, ICO, SCCO)were first sent by email and then SCCO sent me a hard copy as well through the mail.
Nova's acceptance was sent thru email and then they sent me a hardcopy I haven;t interviewed at the other schools yet so i don;t know how they notify you.

hey.

I took 70 more quarter units of upper-div biology courses and retook a couple of pre-reqs and averaged a 3.4 that year. My overall was still around a 2.9 (too much dead weight, more than 200 quarter units). What really helped me was the increase in my OAT score. I went from 330aa/340ts to a 360aa/370ts, and from a 280 in physics to a 370 and 350+ in all the other sections. Taking bio classes and re-doing some pre-reqs did most of the review for me. At the same time, I worked 30+ hours. I also had plenty of leadership and community service activities goin' on. I was trying to show the admissions committee that I could: take a full courseload 20 units/quarter (and do well), do well on a standarized test, and deal with people from all backgrounds through work, internship, and other activites. Submitting everything by mid october also helped. It was a tough year; I would go to the 24-hr library to study till 1 or 2 after a whole day of work and school. Thankfully I had the motivation to do it for a whole year, i guess i really wanted it haha. anyway g'luck to ya pm me if u need anything.
