thought this might as helpful as the interview offers thread. not meant to be a debbie downer, but to let people know who is sending out rejections so you can gauge your status. good luck to all.

Got the UCSF pretty early, like in Sept or so, oh well.

these places obviously don't know what they're missing right? 🙂 at least that's what I tell myself.

is everyone getting their notices via ERAS/email? anything via snail? I'm away from my mailbox for the next week so the suspense is kind of agonizing.

when did brigham start sending out rejections? have a lot of people gotten invites from them already?

Got my invite in late September. Haven't really heard about other applicants (but I don't know that many either 🙂 ) But if you haven't gotten a rejection, you probably at least have a decent chance of hearing from them... gl.

UCSF was the only rejection I got via Snail Mail. Also got UChicago and Duke, but via emails.

The reject letter that i got from UChicago said they had over 540 apps for 6 positions.

wow...

If we haven't heard from programs at all, do we consider it a waitlist? Seems like every program I've asked so far that I haven't heard from has me on a waiting list.

And speaking of which, if you were previously waitlisted by a program that eventually invited you to interview, is there much value in actually attending the interview since you know they had many other applicants they were favoring before you?

if you get an interview, even a late one, from a program you're interested in, go. there's no way to answer your question with certainty, and unless money is a real issue, your regret at not trying will likely outweigh the extra money you spend on the interview if you don't get in.

I also wanted to add something. If you find it odd that you haven't heard from a program yet. Don't be too bashfull. One of my top picks misplaced my file and didn't even realize it until I emailed them wondering what happened. It was December when they realized the mistake.

Keep in mind that some programs will not notify you at all if you're rejected, either via ERAS or snail mail.

If it's getting late in the process, just give them a call & ask. I'm sure you know what the answer is going to be, but it's good to get closure.

A lot more people send out rejections now, apparently, then there used to be 5 years ago. Maybe they got tired of people calling them.

I feel it's incredibly rude for programs to not notify you of your rejection. We spend so much money and time applying to that specific program and they can't be bother to respond in any way at all? Not even as a professional courtesy? PDs out there, please take this to heart. We WILL remember.
