Hey Relatively Prime,
I've got a question for you. Have you submitted your AMCAS yet? Also, I've printed out my application and my paragraphs do not appear to be indented even though they are when I actually go the Essays section. Is there a way to make them appear indented on the print version?

Indented? You mean like "tab-ed?" There's no specfic HTML code for indenting. The way people get around it is by inserting a small blank image. Which I really doubt would work here.

Try <DD>. It's not a "tab" command... it's actually used to make lists... but it kinda tricks the document into tab-ing. That's what I use on my website. It works for me. So put it at the begining of each paragraph. Tell me if it works. 🙂

I've found that inserting HTML codes works just fine. Hey it worked for the paragraphs!

P.S. Why don't you re-name this thread "Indenting PS statement" in case someone else is having this issue? (Besides... it kinda makes me self-conscience. 🙂 )

relatively prime,
your code command <DD> definitely worked! Now, my paragraphs are indented! You're a genius! I appreciate your help!

I'm not entirely certain that what we see on the "print application" page is the exact same as what the ad coms will see. so if we put in a <DD> and it looks good to us, maybe the adcoms won't see the indent, but will just see the <DD>. Just a thought, though it doesn't matter for me, i already turned it in.

I didn't think it was a big deal, because the huge majority of applicants won't know how to do the indent (if the <DD> is a good idea in the first place).

Well... according to AAMC however your application looks printed out, that is how the adcoms are going to see it. That's what AMCAS says... but I guess you can never be sure.

I think that the HTML codes work... because I believe that AMCAS actually prints out the applications and sends them to the different schools (the same way we print then out). But I'm not sure. I would call, but I hate being put on hold for so long.

simpleg-
so, the way you left it...your paragraphs were just separated by a blank line? i'm so confused...i don't know what to do!

yeah i just left it like that. i think that one blank line clearly shows a new paragraph. i also included the indents as spaces even though they didn't show up in the printout. the spaces might show up in later versions sent out. who knows anymore. if you can, call them and let us know if you find anything new...

simpleg-
i am going to do exactly what you did. besides, i would not want committees seeing the commands (if they do happen to print out) and say 'what the hell is this'!
