If we have activities that we talked about extensively in our personal statement, should we just briefly list and talk about them in our Work and Activities Section (and not designate them as one of the most important activities)?

On one hand this doesn't really make sense since those activities are obviously important, but on the other hand it gives you room to talk about other activities and to not repeat yourself.

For example one of my personal statement paragraphs was about my shadowing experience and how it helped me decide medicine was right for me. So in my work and activities section all I wrote under shadowing was "I shadowed physicians specializing in family medicine, pediatrics, and internal medicine." No elaboration whatsoever.

You are making an assumption that the same person is going to screen your PS and your Work/Activities sections, which isn't always true. So I think if something you discussed in the PS occurred during the college years, it's still a good idea to list it as an Experience, too (but ideally using different words, anecdotes, insights, etc). Whether you designate it as MM can depend on whether you need more space to do the subject justice.
