does acummulate GPA as important as prereq GPA? if you repeated any course work, do they only count the last grade I receive or the weighted average of two grades? do most school still have grade forgiveness policy where you repeat and got much better grade....the reason Im asking this question is because when I was going to university of Texas, every summer when I come home, I would take one/two courses at a community college, like history....courses that could be transferred to save some $$$...since it was to be tranferred to the university i was attending, I didn't care to do well, but just enuff to pass....and because i have to submit all transcript from all colleges that I attended.....it would look so bad that i have those c's .....so should i repeat and do better to improve my chance? and what if my GPA is not like most of you 3.6 or above, but I will strive to do well on the PCAT, do you think I will have a better chance to get into pharm school?....please repond to this thread...I've found this website was very helpful...thank you.

I know that UT only cares about your pre-req GPA. As for repeating courses, UT takes the average so if you know you can get an A, go for it. A 'B' would definitely look better than a 'C'. I've heard that you don't need a high GPA to get in, but you'll definitely need other things to balance it out like extracurricular activities, volunteering, job experience, and good recommendations. A good pcat score wouldn't hurt either, and if you can apply before the Priority deadline (Feb.1). Hope this helps.
