On a few waitlists, no acceptances. I've heard stories about people who "call/email everyday and get admitted on the day before class." Don't know how much truth there is to these stories.

My real question is, is there an appropriate way to make 100% sure that the med school knows that you don't have a spot and will go if offered?

An update letter saying that might not get viewed (or look desperate).

A call may not reach the right person (or look desperate or annoy them).

A re-application may not be immediately connected with your previous application (don't know if this is true...) and they would not come to the conclusion.

Any suggestons/past success stories?

If you are only on waitlists with no acceptances the school can see that and knows you would attend if offered.

Absolutely do not call or email every day.

Do you want a way to reduce your chances of coming off the waitlist and put a black mark on your application for future cycles? Make sure you ignore the school's instructions regarding contact or update letters and think you're entitled to be a pest because you want to go to their school oh so bad.

You're on the waitlist and unless the school welcomes update letters/LOI's to signify interest, then you have no control over the situation. Accept it. The ball is in the school's court now, don't attempt to steal it from them or pressure them to give it over.

The general rule of thumb is if you don't get accepted anywhere from end of May to second week of June, it's better to prepare for a reapplication.

Spamming schools with calls is a great way to get rejected

Despite stories I've heard, I would also agree that spamming schools would more likely lead to rejection than acceptance. My more specific question was would one call to the school be beneficial. The title was more just to grab attention so people responded 🙂

I mean... you could give it a try, but i doubt it'll help. Sorry
