I took the USMLE after studying a bit longer than I did for the COMLEX and did much better on the USMLE. Obviously I have to take all COMLEX examinations to graduate since I am an osteopathic medical student, but I plan on taking step 2 next summer as well. My question is on ERAS can I only submit my USMLE score since I'm planning on doing the allopathic match? Also, is the CS part of USMLE important for me to take? I was trying to just take CK for lack on money but might as well take both if needed. I want either OB/GYN or general surgery.

I'd also like to know the answer to the first question, though being DO students, I very much doubt the COMLEX score may be omitted. On the upside, allopathic residencies may not have much of an expertise in COMLEX score interpretation.

As for the second question, I can tell you that all DO residents in allopathic residencies I have spoken to have given an unequivocal "no." It appears no one cares about the CS, so pass the PE portion of COMLEX and don't worry about dropping an extra grand and wasting an extra day.

I just spoke to one that requires CS for gen. surgery. I guess I'll just do both anyway. I know I'm good at clinical skills so it won't be much prep, just a day and lots of money. And I know if you have USMLE they won't care too much about COMLEX. At least I hope not. Thanks for help.

You're sure they meant that you need specifically CS, and not a clinical skills portion of Step II from USMLE or COMLEX in general, right? Two friends of mine are in allo radiology and gen surg, and neither took CS or recalled a program specifically requiring it.

hardly any do. But this one requires CK and CS. stupid in my opinion. Did your friends submit COMLEX scores or just USMLE?

One got back to me, saying he submitted both, and would suggest I do so as well, for transparency. My USMLE score is far, far better than the COMLEX score, however, so I'm in the same position as you.

Take a look at this thread. Seems it may be possible.

thanks! I really do not think you have to disclose both. If a program asks them I will send them the transcripts. I think that's what I'll do but of course I have some time to figure it out. Obviously they know that I have passed because I will be in academic good standing and we can't even begin rotations without passing comlex one.
