Many people don't understand how this process actually works. When you click the "yes" option for automatic release of information then any new info on your usmle transcripts will be released to eras. Now... what happens is the information is downloaded by the programs you chose to apply to. The info will be downloaded automatically by the program. That means nothing.... the program may not actually look at the info especially at this point in the interview season. Someone actually has to sign into eras and look up a specific candidate by their individual aamc number then they will see what their program has downloaded from eras, then they have to print that info up and add it to the documents that form your completed application. If you have already interviewed at a program then they will definitely not be going back into eras to look for updated info especially since you already have a completed application that was evaluated and reviewed already. Upcoming intervieews the likelihood is identical because the information needed to evaluate you to decide if you would get an interview was already downloaded anything else you would have to contact the prgoram and tell them something is there, otherwise i seriously doubt anyone will be going back into eras to check for new info especially at this point when programs are beginning to make their match list.
