Hi
I will be applying through the early match. so, needless to say, everything will be moved up in terms of time course(ie applying to programs, interviews, etc).

for the next few mos(from oct-->dec) i have 2 core rotations left(peds, f.med). now during these , i anticipate having interviews. so itll probably be that i will miss a few days of the clerkships

i cannot move the timing of the rotations(we have to do them prior to dec, as req'd by our school), we cant miss more than 3days of the rot., or we fail the rot.

so you see my dilemma. if anyone has suggestions for what I can do, so that the housestaff on these rotations wont be too pissed off at me for missing days, I would appreciate it.

thanks,

Just explain the situation to them. Remember everyone higher ranking than you has jumped through the same hoops. Maybe help out a little extra the days when you are there (i.e.- have labs ready to go early, a little extra effort). Anyone who does not have a chip on their shoulder should be understanding. I never gave a student a hard time for not being at a rotation for a legitimate reason. If the student was screwing around or lied to me, then its a different story. Just be upfront with them.
