Requesting a different interview day?

Hi everyone! I have an interview invite from one of my top schools, but I have bus tickets booked for that weekend already for a different trip. I can cancel the trip if it comes to that, but I was wondering if anyone knows if the school would view you negatively if you request a different interview date?

I don't want this to hurt me or decrease my chances of getting accepted! Thank you!

Hi! In all my emails, the schools gave me the option of letting them know if that particular interview date didn't work for me so that I may decide to attend another one they were holding. I think most programs understand that people have major prior obligations or have to make arrangements to come out of state, so it shouldn't be that big of an issue. I doubt it would hurt your chances of getting accepted. Good luck!

Just tell them you have an important Dr's appointment that cannot be rescheduled or something like that. They can give you a different day of interview. You can benefit from going to an interview at an earlier date if they have "first come first accepted" principle.
