Hi guys,

I searched the FAQ/forum and can't find exactly what I'm looking for:

I'm a non-trad. with a BS taking the remaining pre-reqs this year. One problem; I can't find a good list of the pre-reqs by school, which would be amazingly helpful in terms of what-to-take with regard to where-I-want-to-go.

How many places require biochem, genetics, or vertebrate biology? Do all schools require O Chem II?

Is physics (with lab) without calc okay? I took two quarters of that. Since there aren't any quarter system schools in this area I'm guessing I'll need to take full-on physics II with lab. Hoping I don't have to take both semesters with calc.

Thanks all 🙂

It's better to take the Algebra/Trig based physics since that prepares you to how the MCAT is formatted.

Not all schools require O.Chem 2. Some allow you to replace it with Biochem, but overwhelmingly, O.Chem 2 is required.

You need to purchase the MSAR or go to the school's website directly to see the prerequisites. Normally, you'll need 1 year bio, chem, phys, o.chem + some schools require 1 semester stats, 1 or 2 of calc, biochem, genetics, and USC requires Cell Bio.

I'm also a non-trad in the post bacc pre-med status. Here's a pretty decent break-down of all US Med School pre-reqs.

Physics without calculus is just fine. The entire class will be full of pre-meds, pre-vets, and pre-pharms, so you'll fit right in.
