Hi. guys.
I have question about requirement courses before applying dental school. I have not finished two organic chemistry yet. Can I take organic chemistry course even after I get accepted a dental school?

Yes, since you apply more then a year in advance. You can start applying in June for a spot in the entering class of the following Fall (more then a year later). On the AADSAS you have the option to include prospective courses and in January you can update your AADSAS courses. So you can apply not having taken the last part of o-chem as long as it is completed before matriculation. But, since the DAT covers ochem many people end up taking the course before applying since you need to take the DAT to complete your application.

Good luck.

sure, but schools use that class to base their decision as to whether you will succeed in their curriculum.

without it I dont think you could gain admission.

You will be fine. When I applied I had not taken Genetics or physics 2, which are both requirements for the program at UF and I was accepted no problem.

If you have been making good grades in all of your science classes thus far ADCOMs can make assumptions about your future performance. For example if you had taken Bio1/2, GenChem1/2, and orgo1 and got A's, it would be safe to assume that you will do well in O2.

most schools need you to have 2/3 of your pre-reqs done everything else by matriculation. Your only hinderance would be with the DAT. Other than that your in good shape.
