Greetings sdn community,

I'm currently studying for my DAT and am registered for December 29th as of now. However I'm gonna postpone until January 9th or 12th. I was wondering if you guys think l will be risking taking the new DAT?I spoke to the ADA and they said they do not have an exact date for 2015, as well as read the threads from Orgoman and Ari. Also, I'm very weak in math what helped you guys in that section, to get above a 20? I need review content not so much questions, I have both math destroyer and Dat destroyer which are great.

Hi Hopeful Doc,

There is not a "New DAT", the ADA states there will be changes but exactly when who knows. They talked about changing the QR section back in 2010.

Please read the link below, that is the information directly from the ADA website, no one knows anymore than that. Anyone stating anything other than what is stated by the ADA is misrepresenting the ADA.

For the Math do lots and lots of practice problems to increase speed, as I am sure you already know it is the most challenging section in regards to time, just not enough of it. I tell my students if you see a problem on the DAT that you think is just going to take too much time to solve or you can not tackle it quickly move on..there will more than likely be easier problems further down that you can answer in a few seconds, don't want to waste a lot of time on a few problems. Timing is key in this section.

Good luck in your studies...it's takes a lot of hard work and dedication to Destroy the DAT.

Thank you for the reply pertaining to the ADA and the new DAT. I needed that answer because you'll get many mixed answers online. Another question is what would be good material to look at before going through the DAT destroyer and Math destroyer, more like review material. Or should i work through the Math section of DAT destroyer and then look at the solutions to get an general idea?

I am glad I could give you a direct answer and a correct one with concerns to DAT changes. . I have many years of experience in this arena. Students like a wide range of materials for review, but you can dust of your actual classroom text books and use them, or for Bio we recommend Campbell's, a lot of students like

Use what works best for you. As I tell all students if you get something wrong while studying for the DAT, that is a good thing because you have identified a weakness and can correct it.

You do NOT want to find out you have a weakness when you are sitting in front of the computer taking the actual DAT! Not good...

I would rather be over prepared than under prepared. Overkill..absolutely not. Remember there are many versions of the DAT, you must be prepared for whatever comes your way.

take care....Nancy
