I have searched regarding this topic but could not find the answer I was looking for. I recently worked on a summer research project and an abstract was submitted for the research conference. I was named as third author. I want to send this to all my schools. How do I do it? Can I email them? The abstract is about a page. Should I say anything above the abstract so that they will know what it is? Also should I highlight my name? I really do not know what to do. I have submitted all my secondaries and even had a few interviews as well.

Thank you so much for helping me.

I did something like this last year after I had published a month after my application was submitted. What I did was write an E-mail to the dean of admissions and said something to the effect of:

"can you please update my application to show that I have published the following manuscript:

***Manuscript authors/title***

Thank you"

I wouldnt put a whole lot of description in it, just put the aurthors list and title. If they interview you and are interested in it,they will ask you about it.

I would simply write a brief e-mail explaining what you are sending them and why you are sending it (2 or 3 sentences should be plenty), and then attach the abstract in a Word document. If you have a full report on it, you could send that too. Also, make sure the school you're sending it to accepts updates. If it does you should be fine.

Edit: Also, this might be obvious but include your name and AAMC/AMCAS ID number.

Does it look good if i highlight my name?
