is this a common and viable career option. i am sitting here at the computer doing research in a topic of my choice (really passionate about ) that involves psych....and i feel like this is so amazing (maybe i need to give it a few months...who knows?). I can basically address questions that i've always had arise within my inquisitive nature...and get paid for it too.
i feel like its probably the one of the more creative avenues of healthcare...
however,
i would still want to see my own patients...give them plenty of time, a wide variety of therapy options...and do well financially
are there lots of academic psychiatrists who have their own practice...and do well in both....academic research and seeing their own patients?
