How much does research play a part for admissions. I am currently doing research on human rights practices for the political science department. Would this be considered good research? Although not scientific it shows I am committed to helping people out.
Any other recommendations about making your application stronger in general
Thanks, M
People who were accepted into schools in the NY area, what were your stats like?

I think I got a few of my interviews because of my research. My numbers aren't that great and my EC's are run of the mill. But at almost all my interviews, my research usually takes up the bulk of my conversations.

The only research I have right now is social science, will this be acceptable. I am having a hard time finding research in the science field. I am a history major.

I also had a similar question. I am a freshman (and don't have much of a science background) and so instead managed to get a social science job at Harvard Med with a research focus on AIDS/HIV. I am really interested in my project but was wondering would this research be viewed as being less prestigious to research in the biological sciences?

Thanks!!!
