I am currently a clinical research assistant at University of Houston Main (UH) for about 1 year now and are considering going to become a clinical research assistant at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) under the William Pokorny Fellowship which is a one year endowed position in clinical research and is for post baccalaureate candidates intending to apply for medical school. When I spoke with the person in charge, they said that most people who complete the fellowship end up getting accepted into medical school. Will being a researcher at BCM which has a medical school better my chances of getting into a medical school compared to UH which does not have a medical school? Pay and benefits wise it is about the same, only difference is that I will have to contribute a significant amount each day to park at BCM versus UH. Should I leave UH for BCM?
