Hello.

I am wondering if there is a good database, website, listserv, etc. that students can use to access year-long research assistant positions if one is taking time off before going to graduate school? Is there a place that professors commonly post such information?

Any ideas?

Thanks.

When I was in the process of searching for Research Assistant positions I found many on hospital databases. In the Boston area that would be www.partners.org, but any hospital in your area should have ongoing research, and therefore research positions. Good Luck!

In NY, you can look for opportunities at Columbia Presbyterian (or whatever they're calling it these days):

www.nyspi.org

They use frames, so click on "job opportunities" on the left side of the page.

Similarly, Brown has a link for job opportunities.

http://www.butler.org/body.cfm?id=60

Good luck!

In Philly, check out Penn. They have a lot of opportunities, especially in the med school. You could also just try emailing professors whose work interests you to see if they have any available positions.
