Hi, I know this question is coming early, but I thought I would ask anyway. In two weeks I'm going to be an MS1, and I'm very interested in EM, even though I know that can (will?) change in the next three years. Everyone seems to agree that I should do some sort of publishable (published) research this upcoming summer. However, I don't have a sense of how broad the research should be. Say I get a cool wilderness medicine (a current interest of mine) paper published in an EM journal, but then decide as an MS3 I want to do radiology (or something where the paper is useless). Will the research be "wasted" or do "they" only care that I could get something interesting published?
Thanks!
