I've done a clinical research internship at a top 20 university but it's aimed at MD, MD/Ph.D's. I'm going to add it to the app regardless, but I just wanted to get your opinion as to whether this would look a little shady, being that it's aimed at people aspiring for an MD. Thanks

what do you mean it's aimed at MD ppl? unless it's research about how a medical doctor goes through residency or something, I can't see how it would look shady. And even that wouldn't look shady actually. It's not like it says MD research program in the title, so I don't know why you're worried.

You're right, maybe I'm overanalyzing the situation. The program doesn't have "MD research" as it's title so I guess everything should be fine. Thanks

El sol no offense, but your avatar gives me a headache.

I am also doing clinical research at the hospital. On the application, I put M.D/Ph.D after the name of the doctor who's the research coordinator.

Just telling you what I did, I don't know if I should have done it...but I personally don't think it has nothing to do if you are applying to dental school or medical school...

I helped with research in a lab at the vet school here at Texas A&M and put that on my app. I don't think they care that it is dental related, although I'm sure its a plus.

Now that I think about it it shouldn't matter because research is research, whether your PI is a Ph.D, MD, DDS, etc. I'm definitely putting it down because it was a cool experience. Over the summer I was able to get in a hematology/oncology lab researching leukemia, and it was pretty sweet.

oncology is certainly relevant in dentistry as well.

I also put down my PI as MD/PhD. It can only help.

I am in the Hematology & Oncology Lab too! 😛 and I love it! 👍
