Hi. I am new to this forum. I am currently a 3rd year med student with a heavy physics/chemistry background. I am interested in doing research in radiation oncology, but my med school does not have a rad onc dept. I was hoping that someone here could point me towards some other institutions that do have a strong research departments.

Thanks,
joo

What city are you in?

as an alternative to strictly rad-onc research, you could do cancer-related research with a medical oncologist or surgeon at your home institution. however, you still should probably try to get some clinical exposure during your third year as well. If your school allows you to do off campus electives 3rd year you should definitely try to set up a rad onc rotation somewhere else. If not, maybe shadowing with a radiation oncologist in private practice or at another institution would be helpful for you.
