Okay, so this may be a really stupid question, but I wanna be clear on the answer before I mess up a secondary. I'm applying to a medical school that asked the dreaded "Why this school?" question, so I cited some new research that they're starting up soon. However, I'm only applying regular MD, not MD/PhD. Would someone in a regular MD program do enough clinical research to warrant including that as a reason to go to one school in particular?

Depends on the school. My school is very research focused and every student has to complete a scholarly research project in order to graduate. A few other top schools are starting to do that now too. If there is an established research program at the school in question (aka if it's not rare for a student to do research) then I think it would be okay to mention in the secondary. Check out the school specific threads and maybe a current student can tell you a little about the research experience at that school.
