does it matter which type that you do? I've spent a few summers undergrad doing lab research, but I think I would much rather prefer clinical research. Are there opportunities for clinical research (and chance to publish) for dental students? and does it matter which type of research you've done when applying to specialty programs?

thanks,

if clinical is more interesting, do it. it won't matter to the specialty programs whether it was clinical or benchtop. benchtop was just more convenient to me, since you don't have to worry about finding trustworthy subjects, can go into the lab any hour of the day to work on it, etc.
