I worked in a lab for 2 years and was coauthored on a manuscript and poster. I worked under a graduate student and had a positive working relationship with them; I was generally a great student and reliable. After my supervisor grad student graduated and relocated to another institution, they recommended me to another lab and I believe endorsed me to my current mentor in this lab. Recently, I asked them for a recommendation letter over email but did not receive a response after a month. I re-emailed about a week ago but still no response.
This person has done this before where they don't respond to emails when things get very busy. I want to carefully navigate this situation so that I can get them to write a LOR but without being too annoying as now they are at a different institution and can very easily block me if I am too aggressive. Thoughts?
