Quick question.

I am working on my pre-reqs and i've completed Chem 1 (4.0) and I'm currently taking Chem 2 and Bio 2. I may have an opportunity to participate in research for a semester or summer. The research position will most likely be unpaid because I am a business major, which doesn't bother me.

My questions is if its worth doing a semester of research for the main reason of being able to put it on my application when I apply for DO school?

Edit-the research would be plant based, so non medical related.

Thanks!

Research is research. Yes.

Research is not essential for DO schools, although it is a plus. If you're lacking in other EC, your time would be better spent there. I would suggest that you do research only if it interests you.

This is true. I am not a big fan of research but I do it to try to add more to my application. I don't hate what I do but I don't necessarily enjoy it. It just has to be done.

Do it because you're interested, NOT because it's a line on your CV. You're not applying to Stanford or Harvard.
