Research Opps??

HI, i have another question:
Do dental students have time to be involved in scientific research? like working for a faculty in either dental or med school?? i'm asking 'cos i heard that some specialty programs (like OMFS) do care about research background.

i did research for a few years. some of my classmates started their research in the beginning of D3 years, just in time to put it on their CV for specialty applications. another option is to do it the summer after D1 year, if your school give you a vacation. from what it seemed, the programs did not place more weight on my experience compared to my peers... so just do what you need to do to play the game....

Does anyone know if there is enough time for 1st year students to participate in a research project??
