During the summer, I would like to do research, in addition to summer courses and shadowing. I am a Molecular Cellular Biology major btw. Would recommend any research areas that could relate to the dental area? Here are some options.

99% of ppl with research do not have dental related research (wikipedia 2011).

I did a bunch of molecular biology research.

This project was presented at MIT in the iGEM competition that I was a part of, and was the neatest in my (biased) opinion. If you could find a professor to help fund the research, there are tons of things that are dental related that you could work on using molecular biology techniques. Like the above poster hinted at, not many undergrads get to work on dental research. I think the adcoms are just excited to see that you put in the time to actually do any kind of research. Mine was having E. coli solve a math problem and my interviewer seemed impressed.
