I have 2 questions regarding publications:

1) Is an accepted paper looked at as favorably as a published paper in the eyes of adcoms?

2) I'm working on a paper that likely won't be accepted until ~July after AMCAS has been submitted. Is it possible to include that publication (if accepted) on my secondaries? Will it look just as good as if I included it on my primary?

It depends on what the questions on the secondary are and whether the school accepts updates. If the secondary asks something like, "anything else to add?" that could be a good place to include a publication acceptance. Or you could send it as an application update, if the school accepts those. Or you could also mention it at interviews if they ask about application updates.
Not sure about the first question as I'm not an adcom. I'd imagine published is more favorable than accepted, but both are good. It's not like you can do anything about it anyway...
