Trying to decide what to do with my spare time next semester...

Research, working at a dental lab, or shadowing/assising at a gp dentist's office? I really only have time to do one, or else I'd do them all. How important is research experience in the eyes of adcoms??

Any input is appreciated 🙂

well...seeing that you are REQUIRED by most schools to have significant shadowing experience, I'd say you really have no choice, bud.

..unless you have previous significant shadowing experience. Cause then it's research all the way.

i'd say shadow is 1st priority there if you dont have any. research next, and dental lab last (that might be harder to get, and i think the pay is even worse than a research lab from my experience).

I would have to do research *for free* within my department. My only compensation would be more credit hours 🙄

It just seems like everyone who gets accepted has been published or has an incredible amount of accumulated research hours...
