How important is research in getting accepted? Everyone that I know that is applying does not have any research background, but I've noticed a lot of SDN members that do have research. I personally havn't done any (not really my thing), but if it's something that keeps me out of med school I can try to get involved in the MS clinical trials at work.

Any thoughts?

I had some research under my belt when applying and I think it helped, but probably the majority of people I knew didn't have any. Participating in meaningful research takes a pretty significant time comittment, and is not necessary for admission to schools, so I wouldn't recommend it unless it's something you're truly interested in. More of an "icing on the cake" I think.

I didn't have any research experience and got in just fine....just make sure you're personable during your interview........

Thanks! ...Define 'personable'...my first interview is coming up and I'm really getting nervous. It's the only school I've heard back from and I don't want to blow it.
