NIH SIP is great but you have to apply starting in January (I applied last moment in March and got only one positive response from 50 emails).

You're too late for this summer, but look up the AAMC's list of summer research programs for undergraduates.

Do you have a medical school nearby? If so, cold-call/email some of the faculty whose research interests you. I emailed 4 faculty members and got 4 invitations to join their labs.

You can also do this for your home institution biology/chemistry depts.

Many schools/hospitals offer summer undergraduate research fellowships (SURFs). Google it.
