research is very important

Is doing dental research the same thing as working at a dental lab? If not which is better? I have no idea what to do..HELP

I know many, many pre-dents who have been accepted w/o any prior research, even to research heavy schools like UCSF. Doing research or working in a dental lab will both suck if you hate the experience... do the one you're more interested in, then you can passionately talk about it during your interview or write about it in your PS.

Toothbrush, I am a research associate at a cancer hospital. The research schools are referring to is not the same as working in a dental lab where you mold wax teeth impressions, implants, bridges etc. There are probably courses offered in this, but research in the sense schools are talking about means scientific research pertaining to oral biology. You choose a problem, you try to find a solution to further scientific study. Hope that helps.
