So, I'm reaching the end of contacting all of the researchers I'm interested in working with, and one just asked what my scores were. I'm strong in clinical experience, but my scores are just average.

Do I respond telling him my average GRE and GPA? How do I phrase it to not make him reject me right away?!? Any suggestions?

In the end, responding now may simply save you the cost of the application fee. If the professor is going to reject you outright based on scores, you'd just be delaying the inevitable by not disclosing them now.

At least, in your reply, you can always take the time to explain why your scores may not be the best representation of your capabilities.

Thanks! Unfortunately, that's what I thought. It's just disappointing that I know that it isn't representative of my knowledge, but that it serves as their first filter. 🙁

That is my biggest fear. I haven't taken the GRE yet (Sunday ahhh) but my practice tests aren't really giving me the scores I'm looking for, and no one understands how crucial they are!!
