Residencies at Albany Med

Anyone know some of the stronger residency programs at Albany Med? In general, is it a good hospital to train at? I know that it is one of the only major medical centers in a very large area. Appreciate.

I dont know much but have heard that strong fellowships include: Vascular Surgery, Interventional Radiology

Agree with above but would add neurosurgery and ENT.

The ones to avoid: OBGYN and psychiatry, but especially OBGYN......

There's nothing wrong with IM and gen surg, but they're definitely not as strong as they were a generation ago.

Hey I am from upstate NY and am looking at doing an ObGyn residency at Suny Upstate or Albany. Could you elaborate on why the AMC program has such a bad rap I have heard it from multiple people now. Thanks. You can Pm me the reasons if need be.
