Hello....
I was wondering what the avg schedule for a resident is ... I know this depends on what specialty we're discussing so mainly im wondering about anaesthesia (as of right now in my undergrad career its my top choice-lol)
i know that each pgy is going to be alot diff but ive heard all kinds of horror stories about 100 hr work weeks and I have also heard that there are new laws that govern the limit of how many hours a resident can work....(im mainly concerned with cali)......anyway I just lack alot of knowledge on how residencies work so any help would be much appreciated ...thanks

Run a search for a few residency programs and look at the posted stats.

Go to scutwork.com. You can look at the schedules for any specialty, program by program. Not everyone is covered there, but you'll get a good idea of what's typical.
