Residency as a DO

There probably have been many posts on this issue. I asked the other forums and they told me come here and post it.

are DO's limited as to what residencies they can and can't apply to. Are MD's given a preference over DO's for residencies? I have heard so many mixed things that I don't know who to believe. The MD's say yes, but the DO's say its on a person to person basis. I just want to get the facts straight before I apply, so I don't end up screwing myself in the long run.
