residency classification pre secondary ?

Hey all,

I went complete on my AMCAS like 2 weeks back. So far I have only heard from one school and they have asked me to submit a separate application to their regular Office of Admissions and paper work to claim state residency.

Is this atypical? Won't all the schools want to classify my residency? And doesn't pretty much every qualified applicant receive a secondary? So why is this one school getting back to me so much sooner than the others?
Do you know what I mean?

When you submit your primaries, AMCAS sends a notification to all the schools on your app saying that you have submitted a primary with their name on it and that it is currently being verified. Some schools wait until your application is verified before asking for secondary info, other schools send out secondary info literally hours after you've turned in your primary even though you are not verified.
Not all schools ask for residency verification, it depends on the state.
