I'd be interested to hear what the workload is currently like for residents in different programs in different locations.

I've been very curious about that too and how accurate Freida's hours per week are.

it said 60 for IM at Kansas University, it's pretty fair for the wards.

ED at Yale, usually 50-55 hours/week.

ICU's at Yale, usually 70-80 hours/week. The same is true of inservice rotations (medicine, pediatrics).

There is a a lot of oversight into work hours and resident welfare here.

IM at Mayo Clinic (Rochester). Average of 65-67hours/week for me.
