Typically June 30th is the last day of residency. A formal graduation may be before then, and whether or not you have to work until June 30th is up to the individual program.

My program required Prelims to take the last week of July as vacation. Our graduation was in mid June; many of the Chiefs did not really show for work after that, although our contract was through June 30th.

Most often it's sometime in early June, frequently it's a graduation dinner, rather than a ceremony. It's not generally a cap and gown type event; sometimes they give folks certificates during the dinner, but more often they just give out awards, and you get your certificate at a later date, once you've completed your contract. It won't be on a "school's website".

Ah, I didn't address the part about the suprise.

Agree wih L2D - its not like there's some cap and gown ceremony held in an auditorium. Ours was a fancy dinner at a local hotel, with tickets reserved weeks beforehand, etc. No just "showing up".

But if you call the Program Coordinator of the particular program, they should b able to tell you.
