In order for me to stay an Indiana resident, I need to move back before May 12th, else I will have been living in another state for over a year and will lose my residency. My question is: If I am not accepted by May 12th (i.e. waitlisted), must I move back to Indiana (and do nothing but reside) in hopes of getting in, thus securing Indiana residency for tuition purposes? This, however, would require quitting my current job and if I do not get accepted then I won't be going to Med School AND won't have a good paying job until next cycle. Any thoughts??

Thanks.

rent a apartment in Indiana and try to find a part time fast food job during the weekend 😀

would becoming a resident of your current state help you out any next year? ie, are there more state schools where you are at now than in indiana?

I'm in a similar situation, although it's a matter of did I live here long enough to gain residency status. it might come to be just barely squeking by, but who knows until I apply again next year as a resident and prove that I am a resident.

I believe that Indiana Univ sends out a good chunk of their acceptances prior to May 12th. However, there are several who are waitlisted and do not get accepted until the summer months. Where are you living now? If you're in Chicago, you can always rent in NW-Indiana...same goes for Cincinnati and Louisville.

You can always call Indiana and tell them your dilemna. Though I would avoid a certain someone at Indiana (who shall remain nameless) who has a habit of being quite cynical.
