Anyone else running into any difficulty obtaining a residency relocation loan due to aggregate loan limits? I am well aware that my outstanding debt is excessive (right around 250K), however, I am also thinking that I am probably not alone. I am wondering if anyone might be able to recommend any companies that are still offering these loans in this age of credit chaos--especially with high debt. Seems like a lot of the older threads no longer apply. Thanks!

I got one through citibank and have lots-o-debt.

My recommendation is to try to avoid taking out a loan...my strategy is to sell as much crap as I can, pack the rest in my car, ship a few extra boxes if I have to, and then just drive to wherever I'm moving to. I know it seems like it shouldn't matter to borrow a few thousand extra, but it sounds like the OP already has a lot of debt...I'm debt-phobic so I try to avoid these personal loans as much as possible. My credit card company has been sending me cash advance offers, which would be cheaper than the personal loans banks give out (which tend to run 10-15%), so perhaps the OP could check w/his/her credit card companies.
