I seem to remember posts that described each of the specialties (i.e. "What is Radiology?", "What is Dermatology?") along with a FAQ of common questions for each specialty. They were stickied too, but I can't find them. I looked in the Residency forums in each specialty subforum but no luck. Am I just going mad from learning head and neck?

Also, this has probably been posted already, but here's AAMC's "Charting Outcomes in the Match: Characteristics of Applicants Who Matched into their Preferred Specialty in the 2007 NRMP Main Residency Match": http://www.aamc.org/programs/cim/chartingoutcomes.pdf

Very comprehensive review going over every specialty and associated USMLE scores as well as quantitatively how much external factors matter, such as whether having another graduate degree, being in AOA, being from a Top 40 school, number of research experiences, Step 1 and Step 2 scores.

I know one good website that has all of that kind of stuff. I dare not speak its name but you can look at the sidebar (left) on this particular site for a category with all kinds of residency and specialty selection information.

Good luck.

Yeah, pandabearmd.com has a nice overview, funny but full of truisms. Here is a link to AAMC's specialty pages (more info is available if you have a login from your school)
