Residency Start Dates?

I'm pretty new to all this, but I was wondering at what time of the year do most residencies start? Do they start around June/July when most medical students have just graduated or do they depend on which residency you are in?

Most internships and residencies start on July 1st.

Bear in mind that while residencies may "officially" start July 1, most will require you to be there anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks in advance of that date for orientation, ACLS, etc. Moral: check with the program(s) in question.
