residency with bds,possible?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hi everyone,is it possible to do residency in omfs with the bds degree and nbde scores?plz let me know.
shantan.

Possible: technically yes. Chances of it happening: next to impossible. You would be setting yourself up for a big disappointment.
This is probably one of the most competitive specialties for US grads, not even to mention foreign grads.

You at the very minimum would need to already be a certified OMFS in your own country, have %95+ on both your board parts, several publications in internationally recognized journals, at least 2 years of research and good connections.
All this MAY get you some attention and maybe even an interview. Otherwise, chances are pretty slim.

If I were you, I would seriously reconsider my plan. But don't take my word for it. Call up the programs and ask them.

I think it's even less likely than Nile suggests. If you check the PASS application website, I can't think of a single program that doesn't stipulate residents must possess an accredited DDS/DMD.
